Ongoing Projects
In Germany, Switzerland and Austria many projects to gain energy from sewage are under way. UHRIG gives comprehensive advice and offers all necessary services.
A pilot system- A world wide first
The German Federal Government for Reactor Safety, Environmental and Nature Protection in Berlin are incorporating Therm Liner project from Uhrig Kanaltechnik GmbH in their new office Buildings.
This is the first Therm Liner System worldwide to be built into a heat pump as a gas compression - evaporation system.
Therm-Liner Plant in Fürth
The local sewer pipe, which is in a depth of 8 meters and flows directly past the front door of the Town Hall building, is large enough to supply nearly all the energy required to heat this large renovated building.
Making the decision to employ the Therm Liner energy recovery System the Town of Furth have renovated their buildings energy system and set a very high ecological bench mark for other communities to follow.
Yacht Harbour of Speyer
The first country wide pilot project for "Heat from the artifical riverbed" as headlined by a regional newspaper, was carried out in the Rheinland-Pfalz area in Germany.
The system Therm Liner from the company Uhrig was installed in the existing sewer network to extract the heat energy from sewage flowing in the sewer under the city.
The energy that was recovered was then used to heat five apartment blocks each with six apartments.
This was the first monovalent system installed in the german town Speyer.
The connecting pipes from the sewer to the apartment blocks were installed using trenchless technology by means of directional drilling over a length of 140 meters.
Fire Station of Drensteinfurt
A Therm Liner System from the company Uhrig was installed in the existing sewers to heat the Fire station for the volunteer fire service in the german town of Drensteinfurt.
With only seven Therm Liner elements having been installed there was still sufficient energy being recovered from the sewen network to additionally heat the adjacent sport club room and a local restaurant.
The connecting pipes from the sewer to the facilities were installed in a using a trench.
An antifreeze additive was used in the system as a precaution against freezing.
TERROT AREAL Bad Cannstatt
The company Uhrig Kanaltechnik has installed during a night building site their energy recovery system Therm Liner. This system recovers energy from waste water.
The work was carried out during the night hours without any major over pumping or water control causing no night disturbance which has enriched the night life in Bad Cannstatt.
Therm-Liner Plant in Paris
We started to run our first facility in Paris. Our french neighbours now receive energy from the sewage, too. BPR-Europe gave the company Uhrig GmbH the order to install a heat exchange system for the sewer in the canal to heat the swimming hall "Marranne" which is nearby, with energy from sewage.
Therm-Liner Plant in Pinneberg
The conditions to receive heat from the sewer couldn´t have been better in Pinneberg. That is the reason why the azv Südholstein-sewage treatment plant Hetlingen decided in line with the renovation of an accumulative reach to install the heat exchange system to support the school, community center with attached sport facility as well as the fire service department with heat from the sewer.
Therm-Liner Plant in Berlin
For the energy concern Vattenfall, the first Therm-Liner project was realised in Berlin at the end of 2006. In the future, 16m² surface area of heat exchangers, at a length of 23 metres, will deliver approximately 30 kW of heat energy from sewage to heat a sports hall in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Therm-Liner Plant in Tübingen
The Mayor of the württembergischen university city Tübingen, Boris Palmer, authorized Uhrig Kanaltechnik GmbH to install the patent-registered heat exchange system. Tübingen is the first german city which supports a school center with heat from the sewer whereby the Aischbachschool registered a energy saving of ca. 46 %.- Therm-Liner Plant in Bretten
- Therm-Liner Plant in Schkeuditz
- Therm-Liner Plant in Chessiere
Therm-Liner Plant in Hamburg
An apartment building block on Hastedstrasse [Hasted Street] in Hamburg is provided with 195 kW from a canal using a heat exchanger with a length of 95 metres. At an energy savings of approx. 33 percent and a CO² reduction of 46 percent, the pay back is expected in 13 years.
Therm-Liner-Anlage in Bochum
The Northwest swimming pool in the city of Bochum receives an abstraction capacity of 150 kW from the Marbach sewage canal over a heat exchanger with a length of 46 metres. The energy savings amount to approx. 48 percent, the CO² savings to even 60 percent. The pay back has been estimated to occur within 10 years.- measuring data
